The Clinical Pharmacy Satellite Program at San Francisco General Hospital officially began in 1988 with the appointment of a Vice Chair of the Division of Clinical Pharmacy in charge of the SFGH Clinical Pharmacy teaching program. Students who take their fourth year clerkships in San Francisco may also sign up for clerkships at SFGH. This flexibility affords an opportunity to compare experiences in University hospital and county hospital settings -- especially as it pertains to care of patients with primary medical problems.
