Professional Biography Ogechi N. Ikediobi Pharm.D., Ph.D. is an assistant professor of clinical pharmacy who studies the clinical application of pharmacogenomics. Her research focuses on applying pharmacogenomic knowledge to improve treatment outcomes of chronic diseases such as Cancer and HIV/AIDS. Dr. Ikediobi works in collaboration with geneticists, sociologists, geneticists, sociologists, anthropologists and clinicians in the U.S. and South Africa to evaluate a novel method of measuring long-term exposure to antiretrovirals coupled with the clinical application of pharmacogenomics to improve antiretroviral treatment outcomes in HIV-positive South African women.
Dr. Ikediobi is trained as both a clinical pharmacist and a geneticist and is committed to translating basic research findings in pharmacogenomics into clinically useful outcomes. Dr. Ikediobi received her Ph.D. from the joint National Institutes of Health and University of Cambridge International Biomedical Research Alliance Program in the Health Sciences and received her Pharm.D. from Florida A&M University. Dr. Ikediobi is currently an assistant professor of clinical pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco where she teaches pharmacogenetics to professional pharmacy students, consults on and interprets clinical pharmacogenetic tests at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the San Francisco General Hospital.
