Dr. Lee Cantrell is Professor of Clinical Pharmacy in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Director of the San Diego Division of the California Poison Control System. He also holds faculty appointments with the UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the UCSD School of Medicine. Dr. Cantrell earned his Pharm.D. degree from the University of Southern California in 1992. Prior to joining the UCSF faculty (WOS) in 1997, he was supervisor at the Los Angeles Regional Drug and Poison Information Center and was a faculty member at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. Dr. Cantrell's area of expertise is clinical toxicology, drugs of abuse and poison control and he is board certified by the American Board of Applied Toxicology. Dr. Cantrell is asked to speak on topics related to toxicology and poison control on the local, state and national levels. He serves as a reviewer for 13 medical publications and has served in multiple capacities within the American Board of Applied Toxicology, the American Association of Poison Control Centers and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. Dr. Cantrell has presented 83 papers at national or international scientific meetings, has published 73 journal articles and 17 book chapters.
